As
the premier resource for expatriate families in Shanghai this position requires
daily updating of the Shanghai Family
site with new content from the print magazine as well as from sourced writers
and writing of additional content online as appropriate; including blogs,
events, listings, classifieds and forums. The position also requires photo
editing and database management. I am in constant communication with City Weekend Managing Editor and the Shanghai Family Editor, marketing
department, sales and digital marketing department to increase website users
and page views. Additionally, I am
responsible for being in touch with the expat community to introduce new
businesses to a large and varied audience. We currently use two formats to manage our website;
WordPress and Django. By using Google Analytics I have been able to track our
traffic sources, better understand our users and increase our traffic by 50%
since my arrival.

When
Frangipani Shanghai, a local high end nail salon wanted to refresh their online
image they came to me to create their new website. Short-term project based work included the creation of the
new Frangipani Shanghai website including the development of an online
store. I was responsible for the
wireframe mock up of the new site as well as copy writing the new content for
the web development team.

Responsible
for the development of both science and life skills curricula for children aged
12-21 as well as management of teaching aide staff and communication with
counseling staff, school psychologist, probation officers, Director of
Education, Principal. Daily
responsibilities included teaching all students and adapting materials as
needed and in line with IDEA 1990 to accommodate students with special needs
and challenging backgrounds.
